기네스북에 가장 시끄러운 그룹으로 올랐던 Deep Purple은 영국의 록 밴드로, 하드록의 선두주자 중 하나였다.

그룹 이름은 리치 블랙모어가 피터 드 로즈의 곡에서 따왔으며 비록 그들은 자신들을 헤비메탈 밴드라고 생각하지 않았지만, 레드 제플린, 블랙 사바쓰와 함께 헤비메탈의 선구자로 여겨진다.

지금까지 딥 퍼플은 1억 장 이상의 앨범 판매고를 올렸다.
